T2 maps were segmented according to the 16 segments AHA model and segmental T2 values and pixel standard deviation SD were recorded. Afterwards, the parameters maxT2 the highest segmental T2 value and madSD the mean absolute deviation MAD of the pixel SDs were calculated for each subject.

Using radiopaque markers, segmental colonic transit time CTT was measured in 48 lean/overweight participants with long colonic transit but without constipation. Fecal microbiota composition was determined using 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing.

At the cutting speed v c 80 m/min, non periodic segmentation is present under oxygen free atmosphere, while segmental chip formation occurs under air. This is accompanied by up to 16.5 lower feed force under inert gas atmosphere, which is due to reduced friction caused by the use of an oxygen free atmosphere.

It also shows similarity to a previously unidentified 7.8 kDa protein of cytochrome c reductase from Euglena. The potato 8.0 kDa protein has a segmental structure, as its sequence can be devided into four parts, each comprising a central Arg Xaa 5 Val motif. N terminal sequencing of the mature 8.0 kDa protein indicates the absence of a cleavable mitochondrial targeting sequence.
